How do I plan my day when my energy is low?

Make the list smaller on purpose, pick one or two light things that fit the time you really have, start with the lightest and move everything else to a day with more room, without deleting it

Why does a long list feel heavier on low-energy days?

A list doesn't know how you're doing today, it shows the same ten items whether you woke up ready or running low

When the list is much bigger than the day, every item you don't reach looks like something that went wrong, even when the plan was simply too big for that day

The answer isn't pushing harder, it's matching the size of the list to the day you actually have

How do I decide what goes on today's list?

  1. Name your energy with a simple scale, like running low, low energy, in between, good energy or energized
  2. Look at the time you really have left, not the whole day
  3. Keep anything with a date that's truly close
  4. Then pick the lightest and shortest tasks, the five or ten minute ones
  5. Stop at one or two on the lowest days, and save the heavier work for days with more energy

What do I do with everything that didn't make it?

Move it, don't erase it, each task gets a new home: tomorrow, next week or the next block of time with room for it

If something keeps moving, look at it once a week and ask if it still matters, letting it go is a valid answer too

How do I start when even starting feels like a lot?

Choose the smallest version of the task, open the email instead of answering all of them, fold one load instead of all the laundry

Set a short timer of ten or fifteen minutes and allow yourself to stop when it ends

One thing done on a low day counts, and the rest of the time is yours
